The NTA Level 4 programme has a total of 44 weeks of study, which are divided in two semesters. Eleven (11) weeks are set aside for theoretical training and 33 weeks are designated for clinical practice. (Ratio of theory to practice 1:3) The first semester is meant to provide basic nursing knowledge, skills and appropriate attitudes to students. All modules are fundamental and are intended to build students knowledge and skills necessary for acquiring competences for the practice of nursing; instil motivation for life-long learning and good foundation for progress studies in nursing. The second semester is meant to consolidate knowledge and build technical and practical skills, hence enable students to gain appropriate clinical exposure and the application of basic concepts in this field of study.
